A seminar on Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) was organized for first-year students as an integral part of the academic curriculum. The session was conducted by Professor Dr. Somsubhra Gupta, whose immense expertise and deep understanding of IKS enriched the learning experience. The seminar offered valuable insights into India’s traditional knowledge frameworks, encouraging students to appreciate indigenous wisdom and its relevance in contemporary academic and professional contexts.
The keynote session segment of ICIDA 2025 was conducted on 5th December 2025 at Hotel IBIS, Kolkata (offline mode) and continued on 6th December 2025 at Eminent College of Management & Technology (ECMT), West Bengal, in hybrid mode. The sessions commenced following a brief tea break, marking a significant phase of intellectual engagement.
The segment opened with a keynote by Mr. Aninda Bose, Executive Editor at Springer Nature Group, London, who highlighted global trends in research dissemination. This was followed by Dr. Saptarshi Ghosh of IIT Kharagpur, who discussed advancements in data science and information systems. Dr. Eva Tuba from Trinity University, USA, further enriched the session with her expertise in computational intelligence and machine learning.
Post lunch, the sessions resumed with Dr. Nilanjan Dey, who addressed emerging innovations in computational and applied technologies. The segment concluded with an insightful keynote by Prof. Ir. Dr. Tan Chee Pin from Monash University, Malaysia, emphasizing global research collaboration and technological advancement.
Each keynote session was followed by felicitation and memento presentation in recognition of the speakers’ valuable contributions.
A three-day Nasha Mukti Bharat Abhiyan was organized as an initiative under the Government of India to discourage substance abuse among students, faculty members, and staff. The programme focused on creating awareness about the adverse physical, psychological, and social impacts of intoxicants. The programme concluded with a pledge-taking ceremony led by Mr. Deb Kr Ghosh, where all participants collectively committed themselves to promoting a drug-free, healthy, and responsible lifestyle.
An NDLI event on “Basics of Publishing Research Papers” was organized by the BMLT Department at the J.C. Bose Conference Hall. The session was conducted by Dr. Manali Dutta, who provided a clear and practical overview of research paper writing and publication processes. The programme aimed at creating awareness and encouraging students to engage in research activities. Students from all departments actively participated, making the session informative, motivating, and academically enriching.
A three-day workshop on Universal Human Values was conducted by the Universal Human Values Cell from 11th to 13th October for students, faculty members, and staff. The programme featured Dr. Swati Pal as the external resource person and Dr. Manali Dutta as the internal speaker. The sessions emphasized ethical values, self-awareness, harmony, and professional responsibility, fostering holistic development and a value-driven institutional culture.
